Update-- Ira's F1 Yellow Dovii Fry: 1 Month Later

Yeah deff post a pic or two. here is my only survivor from ira, same batch. almost 3" now. its a close up and flash washed most color but you can sorta see his spotting on his body in this pic. he is a fat lil guyLOL

I bought 4 F1 yellow dovii fry from Ira a month ago. The batch was 2 weeks old back then. Two of my batch were runts, barely grew, and naturally died off. The two left are strong willed and have been eating like Oscars do. They have grown so much. They eat crushed Ken's 2.0mm growth pellet and bits of bloodworm. They already have their black stripes on the side although it changes with their mood. The smaller one I fear is the male because he runs the tank and is very territorial. He will swim across the tank to run after his bigger counterpart. He is going to be one SOB glassbanger when he's older.

Do yellow Dovii and regular Dovii look the same when they are that small? I have 4 that I bought a few months ago and they look the same as those...I thought the fry I bought were the normal Dovii.

I can't tell the difference at that size either.

At that size you won't be able to tell. You have to wait another month or two. I am getting more soon so please anticipate more pictures as the weeks progresses.

Here are the pics I promised of the 4 new F1 fry I bought from Ira. They ate right about 2 minutes after I took them out of the bag!! Despite having a great camera, the pics are not that great due to their extremely quick movements. I shot a video and I'll post that later on. Nevertheless, enjoy:

Those are very nice little buggers! Can't wait to see future updates. I see they have nice blue on there tail-fins.
