Thanks for the cool pics, really like your GT setup, giving me idea for a 80gal tank. How much does your GT grow in the year that you have it, what else in the tank with it, and how long before it outgrow the 55? My sister's 2 kois are getting too big for her 80gal, so I made a deal with her if she unload her kois, I will get her new fishes. I think I'm gonna go with the big pebble subtrate you have in the other tank, lower maintenance I think, since I 'm not at her house all the time. Thank you.

I currently have some small BalaSharks and a group of small SilverDollars with him that i'm growing out for my 165. They are small so they are no threat to his territory so he doesn't bother then but other then that he's very aggressive towards other cichlids his size. Adult growth of a GT rarely exceeds 10" so a 55Gallon should be fine for him for life but in some rare cases they reach 12" or larger and if that happens i'll get him a larger home. GoodLuck
