Update: New tank mates!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks guys! He definitely is a stud. The minute I saw him, I knew he was a keeper ;) I was simply amazed by the spangles. He looks even better in person. I was really happy with the catch and he settled into the tank pretty quick. Can't wait to see how he looks when he gets older :D

Im curious...how did you catch them?

I used live bait right there from the lake. I caught a few small fish with a simple ball of bread at the end of the hook and then used those to lure in the Pbass. They pretty much struck instantly w/o any hesitation. As for the baby, I used a tiny guppy.

Great looking Occels, wish I lived in Florida. The fish in the ponds that are free look better than the paid ones I have in my tank:cry:

Lol I can't deny, I love the fishing down here. IMO these cichlas are being raised in their natural habitat. I figure their diets and environment affect their appearance and health obviously. They are going to look different than farm raised.

Wow, Really nice Ocell wish i could catch fish like that in Britain... :)

Thanks! He looks a lot more settled into the tank today and his colors are really standing out. We had a caught a few others but none of them were spangled like him. He was the special one of the group :D
