Dez, I dunno if i am too late, but i also am sorry for your loss. i bought 5 (for $72) from a LFS that immediately died. I thought it was me but my parameters were perfect and i did not see the fish until i brought them home.
On top of this, like a dumb ... i went to the same store and spent an additional $51 on 4 more. before i bought them i made sure for awhile that the parameters remained perfectly maintained with my pleco and some feeders that survived. when i brought that set home, they seemed a little off. but within that week one had severe cloudy eye, another body slime, and another fin rot. the fourth one seemed fine at first but at the end of the week he didnt seem to well either. I was afraid i would lose them, but i treated them for 3 days with some API medicine and put them in a fresh tank, i had previously set up. Now they seem happier (not hiding) and the eye cloud has cleared. However the body slime is not worse but not better and the fin rot could not get any worse then what it was, so i am now keeping a daily eye on all the parameters and doing regular changes bi weekly.
I may have a loss to add to this thread. but i dont think all four will pass on. Just the one with fin rot.
If anyone asks, I do have great pictures that clearly show the issues.
oh and mine havent eaten for about a week and a half. They did eat 3 goldfish that day though.
