I never really feared my reds per say but i was very cautious when doing water changes and maintenance until i got a divider. Uou should make a divider so you can work on one side at a time without having to worry about your reds attacking your hand. Really gives you a great piece of mind as their naturally habit is to take flight when spooked, even if it's toward your hands.

yep i once had a red get spooked and swim right up against my hand. Scared the crap outta' me had to stare at my hand for 5 minutes to make sure all my fingers were still there lol

i still don't have a divider and my piranhas barely run away anymore when i do maintenance  so i have to be very cautious. luckily one hasen't actualy gone after my hand yet
