Update on fishfarms H.Lacerdae

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
when large there will be no doubt but when small there can be confusion .The thing I say with that first pic ,if you were not told that it was lacerdae there would be no question it is a mala and this why I am leading heavy towards mala .
My small lacerdae although different catch location was no doubt they were lacerdae from 2" on so I do not see how these look so much like mala .

If these two fish are that hard to ID between the two why would you spend 250 bucks for a Lacerdae when you can buy a Mala for 30-40 bucks? :screwy:

Would you buy it if the vendor told you it was a mala? :screwy:
You go by the trust of what the vendor is selling it as....which was a lacerdae.

You're not getting my point. I'm saying if these two fish are almost identical, why would you pay 250.00 for one when you could buy basically the same fish-mala- 40bucks? Why, just because the same fish drifted down the river a couple miles down and evolved some very minor minute diff. physical characteristics? :screwy:

Some do this so that they can tell everyone that they have a super rare fish and post pictures of it on MFK.

Others mistake rarity and beauty.

Not sure about the OPs motivation, however.

nice!

You make this sound like a bad thing..... I can tell you that I do intentionally seek out rare fish. I enjoy keeping the oddities, and find fish that you do not see everyday interesting. If your interested in keeping cookie-cutters I think you may be in the wrong place......

BTW I bought 2 of these guys, just becasue they are Lacerdae. If Mala were as rare I would have bought 2 of them.
