If you're thinking about going that route I'd get rid of the submissive, bland male, and get a couple of females.

yeap, that would be the way to go
 
Absolutely, if you introduce a female to your tank with two males that have already sorted out their dominance, you may see an escalation in aggression. Better to have two females to one male than the other way around.

1. get rid of the male with no color (submissive one), keep the dominant male.

2. Get two females (females have more blue/green on their gills and chins).

3. when the male and one of the females form a bond, remove the other female.

4. let nature take its course.
