We just got some at work, there beautiful fish. Don't know much about breeding them probally the same as most cichlids.
they are cool fish. tough fish, love to eat smaller fish if they can get them in their mouth. grow about 6 inches. They usually sell in pet stores for about 20-25 bucks around here in st. louis when they get them in, which isn't often. very active fish.
For breeding, start w/a group and let them choose there mates. I would seperate all others sincethey are fiesty and can get a decent size. Might not be a bad idea to keep a few females as growouts in another tank. the male can be come very aggressive during breeding.
