Update on my 2 ray tanks!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks! The hystrix are comming close to the 20cm mark now, the male seems pretty mature, and is actually trying to mate the female.. I dont think he is _there_ yet, his claspers seems rolled tho, dont really know.. The female is a little behind i gues, she dont seem as big as many other prego hystrix female on here.. They are now 1 year and 3 months old, and his claspers are already rolled, isnt that very soon?

Thankyou! You mean more geos?:) The once i already got is so frikking big, with 6 rotkeils, 6 altifrons and 4 jurupari i feel its pretty crowded in there. Its not even many fishes? The rays and the discus dont count, the discus stay in the dark and the rays stay on the bottom.

the more geos was a joke

Yours are growing fast. The male may be mature, or close to it. I agree the female doesn't sound like she is mature yet.

I would say he is mature after watching the video again. I have a wild caught male that is mature at about 17-18 cm. Yours were tiny at 7 cm! My pups were around 9 cm when born.
I still think your female is not mature yet. Mine was 23-24 cm and at least 5 years old when she was pregnant.

You have your very own piece of the Amazon there Tor....amazing looking tank! love the choice of fish, those Geophagus are striking!
One of the most natural setups I have seen on this forum...very well done!

Appriciate it Richard. Choice of fish is well thought out, dont want a messy high speed agressive tank :) Sold 2 of my stingrays yesterday, it was a show to catch, they were biig! 1 over 40cm accross and one a little over 30. Now there is more space for new stuff, now i just gotta get something new :)

Love the tanks especially the bigger one with those lovely big Geos and great colours!!
