Update on my 500 gal

Never would have thought that a stupid pump burning out would cause my tank to be down for almost 3 months and several thousands dollars.....

But hopefully this will never have to be done again-The only thing I can see causeing a problem is my return bulkheads being smaller than I would like-But it would have been a major PITA to get them to right size----But overall it is all hard plumbed now and I was able to get more flow going through my tank-
So although not a fun ordeal to go through-But it was a needed one-My fish should enjoy the extra water movement.
 
what's up skirmish!!!!! 500gal i hate you.......ok no i don't wtf happened i assume you had a leak at one point? how bout some pics to wet my beak!!!! where the hell did you find a 500g in ak or did you build that beast!!! hope all is workin out for ya.......um heading to Anch this Sunday......ya busy? hit me up

How's it going?

LOL-Many hate me for my tank......Part of the territory up here.

We had a power outtage awhile back-I was not at my store (where tank is located) during this time something clogged my pump-I called my store and told them to call me when power came back on-they did this like I had asked-I told them to go see if the pump was working-well they kinda did this-All's they did was listen for a humming noise-they heard it and figured it was working-I went in the next day (roughly 14 hours later) to find my pump stopped working-The only thing I can figure is that something clogged my pump and the humming they heard was my pump-but thay didn't know it was clogged-And within that 14 hour time-I figured the pump just gave out-well while ripping out the crappy plumbing from the previous owner of the tank-we had problems with the connection on my returns.A hose slipped off and we almost drained my 500 gal on my floor-so it was decision time-and we decided to go ahead and fix it the right way-I can explain more in person if we ever meet or maybe even this sunday depending on time your up here..the story gets long from this point on really-lets just say we had problems...But they are fixed now-

I'll be taking pics later today of the tank-Wont be up until later today or in the morning though-
I got my tank from a local crab/seafood company that used it (had it custom built) for king crab on display at their shop- It's beat all to heall and I make it look nicer than it really is....But I needed it for my pacu-They were asking $3,200 for it and I payed $2,800 for it about 2.5 years ago now or so....If I had to redo things now-My pacu would be dead and I wouldn't have this large tank....It costed me several thousands of dollars just to get it into my store (had to rip walls out and remove a double doorway just to fit it in)......

Sunday is my lounge around day-
I generally dont start the day until (make it out into town anyhow) around noon or one.....Sunday is also my movie night at my house with my family and 1 friend-this starts at 6pm....If you want to try and setup a meeting sunday and you can fit it into them times-I would be happy to meet at my shop downtown and you could see my pathetic stock for yourself and we could chat for a bit.....I'll be on all sunday morning like I always am and I could give you my number then if everything works out that is..

damn yeah i figured you had one of those sea galley tanks haha biggun none the less......ok so i don't know my dates not menyana but next sunday......gotta pick the GF at Ted Stevens round midnight!!! fawk and i have to work in the AM!!! anyway ima come up there in the after noon.....get me some Wings and Things, makes me drool!!! pathetic stock??? are you depressed or sumthing jokin........right on so you're a local bussiness owner eh? what kinda shop ya run.......do ya live in the valley and commute to A-town. aight well hope all works out and can't waite to take a swim in your dang kiddy pool!! haha
 
Wow, AK, hope it all turns out good. I'd hate to have anything happen to that pacu.

What ever sunday will work-I'm open anytime between them times.Just drop my a line anytime-Hopefully something will work out sooner than later-LOL

My stock has just takin a beating lately-Thats all-They are not up to par with all the moves.I got them all in temp tank right now that look like ass...Hopefully before you make it up here though I will have all stock back up in the big tank...But things are what they are right now for me-

Yeah I own 2 businesses up here-One in anchorage and the other out in the valley-
I run a Tobacco shop that mainly deals in cigars,pipes,and rolling tobacco along with shaving acc.

Enjoy the wings-They are really good.....

I live in Anchorage and commute to the valley (when I decide to work that is)-I live the reverse traffic situation-Makes it so the drive isn't nearly as bad....My mom runs the Anchorage store and I run the Valley store.

At this point in time and the money invested into this pacu over the years-It wont be going anywhere anytime soon I guess....Everyone around me seems to want to due what it takes to save the big guy when an occurance arrises that is...

Atleast I'm getting back on track with it-It's going to take some work and time-But in the end it should turn out to be a really nice steup-And stock.....I got plans on ordering acouple something's special when the tank is back in order-

But once that happens-
I'll let Pics speak for themselves....
 
Well got it filled-
Leaked like a SOB.....Got it all sorted and tightened up-Hopefully when I go in and check it this morning,everything will be ok-

If everything is fine this morning-I plan on adding fish within a weeks time-Hopefully I will have some pics up sometime soon-I said I would have them up by now-But things happened so be patient please-

Glad to hear that it all turned out good. Any chance you can get some pics of the final product of your labor?
