update on my ancient fish tank

love that tank! very healthy monsters.
one suggestion is to upgrade to the 220 size rather than the 180g size.
it won't take up any more space but that extra water volume and swimming room will help a whole lot with those monsters

could be, but my answer to that is if you can save up for a 180 you can save up for a 220
it just might take a bit longer.equipment wise, its pretty much the same. so the only real extra cost is the tank itself, which isn't generally that much.

if you have room for a 180 you have room for a 220.
they take up the same footprint.
unless you are cramming the tank into a place where the vertical height might be an issue (which would not be good, big tanks need easy access from all angles) you should be fine.
