hi guy just got some new pic and video of my now 4.5 - 5" aft he was 3.5" - 4" when i got him a month or so ago. and as always his id is still not clear to when he was small so hope this help.

any idea on how to get him off live? i been adding shrimp and pellet from time to time but he wont take it not even a look.

Whats the current temperature? I would raise it up to 86 which would make him more active, add some dithers bala sharks, flagtails, etc, & apowerhead for current. Add prepared food more often & try keep live food on a minimum like twice a week. This way you will break his habit along the way plus you won't have to go through starving him & delay his growth since they already grow slow enough. What i found out atf's have a very high metabolism so i wouldn't starve them no longer then 3 days especially at that size.
 
if u starve him, he will take the shrimp, even off bottom of tank. ive never had atf take pellets, but have broken 5 or more off live even my new vatf. these guys can go a week to ten days without food in my experience. if your will to break him is stronger than your urge to see him eat live u will suceed bro.
 
just got some bala shark and trowing pellet and shrimp he went after the pellet but spit it back out didnt even look at the shrimp yet anyway ill keep trying
