Update on my black bullhead catfish with nice pattern

He hasn't lost any pattern yet which is cool, I really like this catfish. It has doubled in size since I got it.

Beautifull fish, they may have tried Bullheads can be aggressive and have pectoral spines which they use to defend themselves.

it is, it's the only cat I've found like it and I hit a lot of different LFS's all the time. The pattern extends onto the barbels too. He has grown since I took these pics, he's a solid 6".

I wonder what size it will max out at? I'm tempted to set up a native tank after I saw some nice pumpkin seed sunfish at an LFS once.

When I used to live in NE Florida I would catch little bullheads with patterns like that from time to time, though never with quite that much contrast. That little guy is an absolute stunner! I love him!

Petersons field guide to N/A freshwater fishes says they max out at about 24inches......but Ive never seen one over 18inches before.
