Update on my centrals

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Everybody decided to show of tonight so I snapped some pics. The Midas female looks like she is already getting back in the mood for spawning. The cubans look as though they are finally getting serious about spawning. I saw a lot of flaring from the male as well as head shaking from both. I even saw my male cuban chase my female midas of. Things are about to get very interesting.

i say get a bigger tank and keep both pairs!!! that would be the most awesome tank ever. never boring always entertaining. i wouldn't say its impossible, the body types of the fish are different enough. but that would have to be big enough for a double spawn....

If I had a tank big enough I think they could get a long. Midas get huge though and demand a large territory. I don't doubt the cubans can hold their own it's just that midas are bruisers and will want a large space. Maybe if I had like a 270... I can't afford to get another tank right now so one pair will have to go.

Anyway I have decided to put my male midas in a 29 for a little bit to let the female get situated. Turns out she ins't quite in the mood yet. Just for a few days to let her get some rest.
