Update on my GATF

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Still doesent look like a Goliath to me and I have two. Tail is too small and face enlongated and stripes look nothing like mine, looks like a brevis to me. Also your tank looks really dirty.. Probably should do a cleaning.

True Goliath.

my gatf had the same stripes. his is a gatf. the stripes are hard to see and they only come out in some tank set ups.

I've had several gatf and none look like his with the face like that not to mention the tail is a dead giveaway, I've seen gatf with stripes so I can dismiss that remark but the face and tail are just not Goliath, maybe we can chime in some of the experts?

Op certainly didn't share his rad fish for critisism, even if you think its constructive, its not! Looks like a gatf with dull stripes to me. Either way a 8" fish will be fine in a 75 until it hits 10" or so, which isn't going to take very long. Cheers

To the dude with loads of microbubbles in his tank, just a quick pointer for you (never usually get involved in these thread "conversations" but wanted to let you know) these microbubbles are highy likely to cause embolisms in your fish ! a good flow with ripples on the surface or ideally a trickle filter is all you need for any size tank, unless its "surface area" is tiny ie deep but thin tank, blowing bubbles through your tank will cause you loads of probs and is a ineffective way of ensuring oxygen levels in the tank, 5-7mg of oxygen per litre is perfect anything over 9 is dangerous. Surface exchange is what its all about dude :)

Micro bubbles killing a fish? Lol

Air doesn't necessarily mean its all oxygen BTW!

#1 My gatf snout is in mint condition not like your busted up at why it look long.
#2 Two out of my 4 gatf had the big fan tail not all gatf have it.
#3 He been doing great in my dirty tank the algae help him to see where his boundary is
so he doesn't smash into the wall so I'm going to keep it like it is.
#4 He's pushing 8" now don't you think if he's a brevis or vittatus his stripe would be much darker by now and the body shape would be different.
Congrat on your ATFs maybe your will color up like my Gatf one day.

Now I know what I have got, can you kind ]v[FK member tell him what I got:)

It's a nice GATF. The "stripe" caused by lighting and reflection. Thanks for sharing.

my plan when it out grow the 75g I'm going to sent it off to college where it get smart and big. Than I'm going to grow out some gold fish in the 75g lol.
Sounds like a good plan! :naughty:
