Hey guy's thanks a ton for all of the advice and I almost pulled out of the Hystrix I ordered from my local fish store due to advice here.

The ray came in and I explained to him I would rather pass as I had not paid. He asked to come look at the ray and talk with him. We got to talking and he relized I wasn't just a yahoo with a 55gl and offered me a 2 day garuntee and said if it died in upto 10 days he would get me another ray. That sounded like a decent deal to me and the ray was even 10$ less than he quoted it at when I ordered it.

I bought a bunch of black worms and a bottle pf p[rasi as per advice given here.

I took the ray home and squirted water from tank into his water for a few hours until it was about 50/50 then added the ray to my tank.

He's been doing great since monday night and I fed him some black worms tuesday in the am and he ate vigorsly then procceded to take a massive dump. I fed him again last night and he again ate very well. In addition I threw in a small piece of rainbow trout from the freezer which he did not eat at the time but this am it was gone from the tank so I assume he ate it.

I tried to feed him some very small worms from my yard this am and he would move over top of them like he was going to eat but when they would start wiggling he would kinds spook and swim away???

Here a few pics if you guys could help me with sexing him?

Pics are too blury to sex your ray. It looks like an orbignyi ray, and is rather thin. Try cutting the earth worms into small pieces, may be easier for the ray to eat.

yes will do did not relize they were this blurry. Gimme a few hours and I'llpost up some better ones.

Not sure he's as skinny as you guys think it may have been the angle I tookt he pics as they looked weird to me also. Here are some more pics. It looks to me as normal as any of the other rays I have seen in the past few weeks his same size. Take another look and see what you think.

that black sand is such a pain to keep nice looking haha

great pickup and i think he looks healthy

That ray is very skinny. Feed whatever it is eating 5 or 6 times a day, small amounts.
What is it it eating?
Even it's tail is sunken in onthe sides.
Good luck and get it feeding

hes eating blackworms. I just sent the wife out to get more and I will follow ur advice and throw the black worms to him.
