Update on my walmart flowerhorn.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I found somebody who wants to buy him for $130. I have most of my males posted locally since I have 6 nice males and 0 females. I don't know if I should sell him. I probably will and just order myself a little MP fry off of aquabid.

I know it's a profit and that's cool but it's different with him because I raised him from an inch and he came from my local Walmart. He's kind of sentimental to me and has the most KOK potential out of most of my males. Still not sure if I want to sell him. My girlfriend says "No, don't sell him you'll be sad. Let's name him and keep him instead." LOL

It's a valid point of view. It's a pretty cool find. If you like the fish, hold onto it. At least it looks like it's going to be a nice fish, so you're not holding onto a turd. That would be gross.

Ill give you some personal experience Cam. I had an 18" Fahaka Puffer, raised him from 2". Very cool fish, great personality, flat out killer. A friend and his buddy came by and his buddy was in awe of the beast. He offered me $200 for him, I took it thinking I can get another and raise him up just the same. Chris @ Fantastic Fins got me another, all is good right? Nope, the Fahaka I have now is not the same, no where near. He is no where near as friendly, no where near as personable. I regret selling that fish everyday. I even offered to buy it back from the guy but he will not sell it back to me. Some fish just have that "it" about them. I think you will regret selling that fish bro, I personally would keep him. He is a great conversation piece.

Thanks for the advice. I've had a few people offer me $500 for the big guy in my avatar but I always tell them no because he was one of my first fish and I got him from petsmart for $8 or something 5 years ago. This guy is kind of the same thing. He really does have a great personality. When I first thought about getting rid of him I said I'd only give him to somebody I know or give him to my dad as a "pet fish" because he has so much personality and my dads always had 1 tank with 1 big glass banging fish ever since I was a kid but he's never had a flowerhorn.
