I'm new to the site folks. I don't want to see uninformed but , What are the parent spieces of the Flowerhorn ? I really have not kept any Hybrids, I'm not really a prude that way. The first Hybrids that caught my eye were Blood Parrots when I was staying in Taiwan back in 1992....any info would be great, Thanks.

well nowadays it's real hard to say what exactly is in flowerhorns. however the original flowerhorns were basically midas/rd, trimac, parrot, synspilum.

Chances are usually another hybrid FH to make the babies. As for what will make a FH. The list is endless...

Just keep reading threads and you'll see that there are many breeds that will be mentioned over and over.

Thanks Orbit. I've been nosing around reading numerous threads and it seems like anything goes for parental stock as long as the desired look is achieved. So many great looking fish as well as yours ff317 !
