ok so since i have a few of you here...one question: on monday my boyfriend added some coral to the filter system because the PH was off, and last nite he checked and it had gone WAY to the other side and is now very acidic. so he asked me to remove 3/4 of the coral from the filter. Which i did. but i didnt dump the water out of it (cuz the filter had just been cleaned on monday) and i didnt drain the lines (which he doesnt do every time he cleans it) and when i hooked it back up it shot all this really "white" cloudy water into the tank. this was about 2 hours ago and the tank is still very cloudy. I guess i should have dumped the water out of the filter but its recirculated now so i suppose its too late. Is there something i should be doing? or do i have to just wait now? i hope i didnt hurt them...

how far off is your ph...whats's your reading?

before the coral it was way over in the 6.1/6.2 zone. after about a day and a half with the coral it had swung all the way over to the 7.4 zone. So he asked me to remove some of the coral this morning (i'm not sure if he checked PH) but after the test i just did it still seems to be about 7.3/7.4 so at least this clouding issue hasnt affected that. (my guess is constantly swinging PH wouldnt be good for the fish.) Hopefully the removal of the coral will bring it back down but for now i will leave it till he gets home. Maybe by then some of the cloudiness will have cleared up as well. Thanks for pointing out that i should check the PH! it helps me to know the fish arent being shocked (i hope).

youre ph doesnt seem too out of range...just focus on getting it stable. i would try to avoid making too many adjustmants.

very nice tank and fish you have there. glad to hear you stuck with it.

How often do you need to clean the tank? Id figure cleaning w/ all those plants would be a pain in the ass.

thats a beautiful tank with all those plants

Beautiful tank:drool:
If is not too much :D can you someday do a little video (just 2/3 minutes) of the tank/gars swimming?...
That would be great to look at.

old old thread brought back to life
there should be an update by the OP to do justice to this revival
