I feed my eel nothing but worms! He will eat a feeder every now and then.
My tsn is about 7" now.

That TSN will think the eel is spagetti some time soon, ive lost one to mine. I lvoe the tank though great fish and one of the best setups ive seen.
I would never house them together in the first place. its too risky. a TSN will feel for its prey and if it seems small enough then it will eat it. Eels are long but thin. he may just think that its a smaller fish. when TSN get about 9"-12" then they think they can eat anything.
im not trying to scare you off but they are eating machines and can grow over 3 feet easily.

just keep the tsn fat... the eel is big enough to handle himself for now. friend had an TT eel with a big tsn, no problems.
Have you tried to feed the eel mussels? Mine loves it and grows well and gets really fat!

im not saying it coundlt work. but Its VERY risky. keeping a TSN fat is harder and more expensive than you might think.

I understand what you are saying, I just felt that if the tsn gets 70% of the fire eel's length that this is when i should worry....so this isnt true? So around 12" I should start to watch their behavior. I will put the tsn in a pond if he is at all a threat to by Fire eel! thansk Mike
