actually a punctata "Blue 33" is going in the Uruguayan tank. it had ich so its in QT for a while. this is it from 2 weeks ago. the ich is totally gone but im waiting a little while to move him over.

The gymno's are looking great Sean. I'm a big fan of all the uruguay cichlids.

Both tanks look great. Got to ask what that big ugly silver thing in the first 125g picture is though;). What in the world have you added?
 
lol you mean my huge red hooks i got for free :D the largest is prolly 9". im seeing how they work out. i may end up passing on them but they were free so i said
"what the hey"

Sean, do all your tanks have a black background?

Severums will show their bars on dark backgrounds just like discus do. One of the reasons I keep all my tanks painted light colors is because discus will darken on a dark substrate or background. I found the same to be true of my sevs. Maybe she's not showing bars because of stress... maybe its just because of the dark colors in the tank.

I really like the parrot and the big gold severum. I can't wait until my sevs grow a bit bigger.
 
Your severum could do an AT&T ad. :D

By the way, if you ever want to get rid of him, I'll take him. He'll look good in the new 220 which came with a black background. I was going to scrape it off, but after seeing your severum I may just leave it alone.
 
Ah yes, I remembered after I posted that you had the little punctata ... those blue 33 are really pretty, I just wonder if it won't get too big for the gymno's ...

LOL I should send them a picture :)

If I were to rescape a large tank, I might consider a 3D background.... The problem with my 220 is that it's only 2" wide, and a 3D background would take too much room.

I'm still hoping to find my rottie a proper mate....but I might run out of patience first ;)
