You could build a pergola over all or part of the pond. Then you could train some vines to grow up and over it. It would look very nice, as well as provide some shade for the pond. It would be more likely to clear up that way, as well as help prevent large temperature swings from heating in the sun all day to chilling at night.
By the way, my fiance said it looks like a hot tub. I say you install some multidirectional jets, heat the thing and have at it!
