Check out my 450 thread for details. I have a 33" black, 36" Niger cat, 20"RTGG, T Gar, 2 Floridas, 15" bala, bumble bee cat, a couple super tough Africans that started out as feeders. To name a few

About 7 years old now. 50 of them were imported by h2o aquatics 6 or 7 years ago. I bought the last one he had. This was the last batch imported to the US.

I looked into it. The distributer breeds them in Australia, easy to find on the internet. Last time I talked to him 4 years ago before I bought this guy, he was selling them for $500 each at about 6”. Each fish is chipped and has a certificate. The issue was a minimum order of 50 pieces. I have the money I just don’t have the space to house 50 of these guys. Depending on shipping cost, losses, housing cost, and so on I’m not sure if the deal would be profitable. Just a break even cost would be around $800 each. I don’t think the market is big enough for fifty $800 fish? And that’s just break even. I can sip a beer and watch my AUL and break even...

My understanding is the current minimum is 5, max 10 fish. Cost is $600 ea plus a $100 box charge ea. Then you have permits and a plane ride. My guess is break even is $1200. So retail you need to look at what, 2K?

if my memory serves me correctly. a few years ago i remember someone doing a group buy or something on AUL i believe. and they were going for $600-800 each for a 5-6"
