Update pics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks guys.
The sand is pretty simple. Run the gravel vac slightly above it and the debris leaves while the sand stays. A little gets sucked up every time, but I just rinse it real quick and throw it back in. I'll have more update pics this week. I've added some black sand to the tank.

ive actually never found sand to be very difficult, although i didn't try it till i was more experienced with aquariums, but i prefer sand over gravel personally

Thanks guys.

Neat! I'm thinking of trying this out when I get the funds for a smaller tank for small/juvies. Still hunting for black sand that's good for fish tanks over here.

I added some Black Diamond substrate to the 125. Not only has it brought out the colours in the plants, but the bichirs have changed quite significantly as well. They've all darkened up quite a bit and the dels have quite a bit of green showing. I just haven't been able to get a good closeup pic of their heads.
My male del. His colours have popped nicely.

Wow, one of the nicest bichir setups I've ever seen! Is that the normal lighting on the tank? What are you using?

By far, the most natural bichir tank setup i've ever seen!
