What's your ph, nitrates, diet, and age?

pH is 8+, nitrates are at 40 and they are about 7 - 8 months old

I would lower ph to like 6.5 they like acidic water

i would advise against messing with water ph acidity and alike. your just asking for trouble.

My tap ph is 8.2 ive used neutral regulator on all 7 of my tanks on my water changes ph is settled at 6.8. Ive noticed increased activity. Better appetite and more active fish. So yea
