If you start messing with ph it is a gamble. Better the have the fish used to what your watwr is at the tap. Stable ph no matter the number is better Then the ups and downs of messing with it. One of the many things my Cuban gar showed me.

Yeah I prefer to stay away from that too. It was a thought when I was considering what could be causing it. But if I have to choose Ill pass
 
Nice update. My xingu did not have the yellow outline on the body. Just the white spots and and then change. It must be that bio gold. @joefishncash be telling me use bio gold aswell. I can prob see why now.
 
Do you guys think those areas are missing scales from fighting? It weird cause it's only on the kels
Nope. They are still developing their colors and are young fish. They also look to be tocantins Araguia hybrids
 
i would advise against messing with water ph acidity and alike. your just asking for trouble.

I'm pretty sure that's aragronite he's using as substrate which is a buffer. Try adding some bog wood to balance it out.
 
I'm loving your kels, I really like the 2 tone. I wonder if it will morph ( more gold) as they get to adult size. Keep updating please :)
