So I went with a odoe pike and flag tail prochilodus. They’re both about 4” and will grow out in a 120. Do you guys think a gold wolf fish the same size will work with them temporarily in a 120 unit I can move the pike and flag tail to another tank? Probably 6 months and those will be the only fish growing out in this tank

As a juvie it should be fine. Golds are supposed to be among the least aggressive wolves.
Do you know about Columbian or black wolf fish? I’m leaning towards the gold, but considering those as well
Same, I’ve kept a red for a bit, but those are too small for what I’m doing
I’d be cautious. Larger wolves like mala or a black wolf will get big and will outgrow the African pike and flag tail. Gold can work if the odoe is bigger than it. Golds will occupy the same swim area so it can be a prob. Need some good long swimming space.
The wolf will eventually have the 120 to itself, I’m just growing the pike and flag tail out until they’re big enough to go into my other tank. Do you think as juvies these 3 can coexist for 4-6 months? Which of the three types of wolf fish I’m considering would be the most active/interactive in your opinion?

It can work for a few months. Never truly know till their together. Id go with the gold.

One other question, the seller has two gold wolf fish, one is listed at 3” and one 4.5-5” my odoe pike is about 4” and on the thin side. Which size wolf would you recommend?
