One other question, the seller has two gold wolf fish, one is listed at 3” and one 4.5-5” my odoe pike is about 4” and on the thin side. Which size wolf would you recommend?
Thanks
In this case I’d get the smaller. It’s big enough to not get eaten, and grows fast enough where it won’t be too small comparatively.

I’d suggest the smaller one.

golds are somewhat hit or miss.. some are really good with tank mates. Had a black, red and gold once in a tank.. they all got along…before that tho i got 2 golds and a red and one of the gold was really aggressive almost killed the other gold and red so i sold him..if u gonna add wolves to a tank add them young... blacks in my experience are better with tank mates as long as they grow up together.. but blacks get biggg.. 120 is ideal just for one.

Update
I think I happened to get an extra aggressive gold, I ended up putting the other fish in the 180 and the gold with a 6” granulosus catfish and a 5.5”‘armored catfish in the 120. It was good for about 4hrs, then the wolf attacked the granulosus with a purpose. So I moved both catfish to the 180. It’s been about 10 days now and the gold wolf is really active and is attacking the glass when I get close. Super aggressive eater too. I think I’m in love!!!
