Update/rate my Flowerhorn, Grade A

Acceptable zz
I divided him with my female zz who's around 3 inches and immediately her stripes turned black. So i removed the divider after about an hour. Immediately after i removed it they began interacting, no fighting at all. I know the possibility of the male being fertile is slim, but any thoughts?

The possibility of the male being fertile is very high actually. Zz are almost always fertile if that is what he is.

Really? I've read on a few different sites that male flowerhorns in general are hard to find fertile, their reasoning being that they are a hybrid species. Now i dont agree with that reasoning, but this is just what I was told.

Fertility issues are usually from fresh crosses of fish. Your fish was line bred with fertility in mind. If it's an actual zz anyways.

Soo you think the possibility of fry is good? if both are zz like you said.
I mean last night and today they were interacting and swimming in circles together. Also seemed like they were moving gravel and making a little "nest"

I am brand new to breeding, have only read up on the subject. And this just so happened that it came about. So any info would help tremendously
