Update: Scatohphagus tetracanthus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
How large is yours? Mine are more greenish with less sharp stripes. Here's a couple of pics of mine now and some when I got them 3-4 yrs ago. Like most scats, they have tended to bland with age.

Do they need a brackish tank?

They will live in full fresh but would appreciate some salt. I add a small amount to my water during waterchanges but not any more than I added before I got the scats.

Brackishdude, how big are yours? The reason I ask is because these are large growing scats. Mine have at least doubled in size in 6-8 months. I would think in 3-4 years they should be in the 10-12" range. I think I read they grow to 15".
