50cms measured last night!!

Update on colour development.
Approx 18 months old total. i have had it for 1 year.

Pictures below are under a normal white light, NO TANNING FAKE LIGHTS.

big difference with FAKE lights, thats why i dont like them, but for tanning purposes, i use it. will replace red fake lights with reptile d3 desert tube next tanning cycle.

Step by step progressison photos from May 2011 to may 2012 for refrences.
you can see slowly but surely the rims of the scales get darker and develop, pearlies too.. very interesting how it develops. its hard to notice it when you are just looking at it daily, but when you look back at photos, its apparently and distinct.

yes, in the first pic it was 30/31cm.
50cm yesterday (thats tip to tip)

my old rtg was 53 to 54, my goal for this beast is 65cm! lol
i wanna be able to get into the tank and give it a hug

yeah, my wife says she cant see the difference untilli snow her the pics
me, i am obsessed so i almost chart each scale lol in my memory but nothing like seeing the pictures and the difference. its crazy. happy with the development, i think i will hold off tanning for a bit - wait for more colour to come out then tan. get some size on him, i only did 3 months tanning 10hrs a day (normal light cycle for my fish room)

it has not had a fasting stage at all since i got it, right now its eating 2 to 3 whole prawns a day stuffed with massivores (approx 1 to 4 massivore a day) if it doesnt chew and spit it out.
no fasting, just eats....

i discovered that aro i had in the past fast due to the water changes - now i have an auto system, no temp flux at all, i found when i did that, i found no fasting. interestng, may not apply to all but hey

Pretty good growth for a Red. Your red could hit 30" if you give it enough room! My friend's SR hit 30" after about 10 years.
