Oh yea, and the tank, test, and place more feeders in there.

If they survive, test, and if conditions are all good transfer.

I would wait until wednesday or thursday if you would like to be extra safe.

It can take quite awhile for a big tank to cycle. Granted you have some established media which will speed things along, but my 350g took the full 6 weeks to cycle, even with some established media. I used the pure ammonia method. Spiked the tank to about 5ppm ammonia and waited. It was frustrating checking the water every 2-3 days for 6 weeks and never see the ammonia drop and the nitrates come up. Then one day almost overnight the ammonia crashed to almost zero and the nitrates shot up. Did smaller doses of ammonia at that point to about 2ppm untill the nitrates were zero and it could eat 2ppm ammonia in a 24hr period. Did a 80% water change and added fish. Never lost a fish with this method.

I might be wrong, but doesnt using established filter media cut out the need for a "cycle"? The filters that are running on your 40 obviously have enough BB to support the stocking levels so why not move them to the 160 for a week or so until your sump gets going and throw the fish in there. Just my two cents.

the tank has been cycled. all the test came out good. i threw my orino's in there, so far so good. its been 3 days sinces i threw them in there and they are doing well in there. over the weekend i am going to throw in the rest of my pbass in the 160. pop a beer and sit and watch them enjoy their new home.

i will take some pictures of the tank when it is fully stocked. it may look plain for now but its only temporary until i have some funds to decorate the tank.
