doesn't really matter what you call it as far as your enjoyment goes, as long as you like it. cool looking fish, I'd be concerned if that white area is on the fish and not the tank glass.
as far as the rocks go, all rocks are originally from outside, so no problems. you can bleach or boil them if your concerned about introducing something. some rocks are better suited to aquariums than others. for example limestone, sandstone, and lava rock will break down relatively quick making your water hardness increase.
the exception to this would be if the rocks have been sprayed. fertilizers, herbicides, and bug poisons are unwanted in your tank.
