if only i had the time, money, and space

You have really owesame lizards Mike:) Sugestion: use also the dandilion leafs, much more calcium rich then the flowers, but both are really superfoods by their own rigth. Do you use any suplements on your igs?

the big guy gets his calcium every other day. i switch between calcium with and with out D3 added to it. and he also gets a vitamin supplement daily.
the rhino gets calcium daily both with and with out D3 and he gets a vitamin supplement daily.

i use the dandelion greens as well i usually buy them when i see them at the market. have to wait a little longer until i can get them from the yard. they are still to small and it would take a long time to get a decent amount.

i like the monitors, are the docile>

they are semi docile.

they are not handled very often. basically they get handled if i have to do work in there tank. other than that they are a look but dont touch. if i want to handle a rep ill handle my big green iguana, my rhino iguana or the bearded dragon.

Excuse me Mike but I think your really overdoing the suplements a bit. As for the rhino that regime its fine but for your big guy I would say no more then 2 times a week, he is a healty mature adult, he doesant need to be given thouse so often and the escessive amount can stress its kidneys wich by its age have absolute priority.;) I also use suplements but far less, my male gets them twice a week and the female once a week (more when she is gravid). They also get daily sunshine as often as Im able and a diet full of Hybiscus, nasturtiuns, water cress, rucola, dandilions and green beans:D Aparently you can raise a absolutley healty green ig without any suplements as long as the diet is the most varied possible and full of calcium rich foods. Remenbar that big ig pic I posted a wille ago? He has been raised without ANy of thouse, pretty amazing.

ill cut back. from what i have read ive always heard to give calcium 3-4 times a week for adults and multi vit 5-6 times a week.
given the past that he has had i never thought it would do any harm. going to have to read up on that.

ill cut him back and see how hes does. thanks for the advice coura

im also going to be buying 3-4 hibiscus trees in a few weeks that im going to keep outside for added variety to there diets. and i think they will look good in his outdoor enclosure:D

Be careful with the hibiscus for a bit. Nurseries will put wax like spray on the leaves to make them shine and also load them up with fertilizer to grow fast and pesticides to keep aphids off(they are very succeptable to aphids just give a strong blast of water if yours ever get any). Cant wait to see soem pics of the outside enclosure!

Once thet hillness its healed, there is uv, good food and warmth, it isnt to come back. The suplements are insurance to make shure we arent forgeting something;) but to much can be as or more dangerous then to litle
