IMO that's a very unique pattern being on the muzzle like that. It's common for some Urau Amphiacanthoides to show the spotting in random places but to the degree of yours is really cool! My male has some as well but not like that. My 9" female hasen't a single spot. LMK if you want to see a pic. I'll try and find one for you.

I'd love to. Also, any idea as to where I can find another? He's by himself and seems to look as if he's a little lonely. Are they shoalers/schoolers? My parrots are together and the geo's are together...he's alone.

I would leave him be. Unless the tank is large enough for multiple indeviduals. They are a social cichlid so they prefer groups but some of us have been lucky to keep pairs, keep in mind they get big. I happen to luck out with a pair and they do great with one another.

It's hard to get pics but you can see the males spotting on the caudal peduncle, just above the anal fin and directly behind on pectoral fin. He is the top two pics, the third is my female with no spotting and the last pic he is on top, she on bottom. The patches are only bold on his left side, he has very little on the right side. he is 7" and she is 9" I really like the pattern yours has allot.

EDIT: found some. Email "The Wet Spot" in Portland Oregon and ask for Anthony ;). They have some large 6"+ specimens. I have seen them myself and they are very nice and healthy, they ship too. I don't recall if the ones they have are showing any spangling though, sorry.
