He's in a 180 gallon 8 x 2 x 2 now. It is fine in there. But i'm in the process of building a 15 x 5 x 4 Block tank with viewing walls. So he'll be able to swim at full speed and keep all his teeth. But i honestly think he (could) be kept in the 180 for quite some time with no ill affects? They are really not as active as you would think. He just hang's beside the decore other than feeding time. Then he's a beast! (Jumping all the way out of the water) For Hikari food stix. Really fun fish to watch feed!

If I could find one, do you think I could keep it in a 125gal till this summer? Setting up an above ground pool, should be sufficient for it!!
Have to go in the 300gal during the winter though. . . . . till I get a larger tank that is!

You would be fine. There groth rate is VERY slow. And as i said there very calm and cool fish. I hope you find some. I'm looking for a few more aswell. Hoping to grab a few more during this good weather. Better for shipping. In a 125 i'd think up to 7-8 inches you would be fine. You looking to grow one out? Or just buy a little bigger in size? The grow outs seem to be around a little more at the moment. And the price is right for sure.
