very nice :) that ansorgii is a beauty!!!

:iagree: This is a good one:)

thanks ray and zaric! one has some weird scale patterns though, the area surrounding that light spot, probably from past injury long ago and the scales grew back irregularly, but it is the larger one, so can't complain :)

Pretty ansorgii. I always wondered, does each bichir species have certain traits/habits whatever particular to specie? If so what would the ansorgi be?

thanks davo! you mean behavior? there seem to be some generalization to some extent, eg. senegalus and palmas polli are usually very outgoing and active, delhezi is semi-active, and palmas polli tend to get fat. the protruding lower jaw and upper jaw species might have different feeding habits due to the difference in the shape of their jaws, although that probably shows up only when feeding live food. the rest of the bichir species are generally quite nocturnal. P.bichir lapradei are generally shy, P. endli endli are generally lazy (although i have an exception), whereas P. endli congicus is actually semi-active ime. But these are just generalization, there are always individual exception.

anyway, thats probably more than what you asked for LOL, i haven't observed any distinct behavior from the ansorgii. the one thing that makes it stand out is its unique patterns, two rows of squarish to rectangular-ish blotches on the side and back.

nice! cant wait to get mine!
ive gotta wait till i get home from vacation.........theyre lookin O SO GOOD :)

god i want 1 so bad! lol

how many did he get in u think?

Yes, the pattern they have makes them an attractive species. Yeah, i just meant behaviourwise, as there are the upper and lower jaw species, and quite a few of each.

thanks grmanrocks. he said something like 7 or 8 this time around...can't remember exactly. he has a couple huge ones, i think those are included in the count, but not really sure.

davo - ok cool. yeah their patterns are quite beautiful. other than that, like i said, haven't observed any difference in behavior. act like other lower jaw species pretty much.

what would huge be? lol

he siad they were 9-10"s
but those may be the regualr ones

does any one know yet how big these sukas get? it was floatin round that they only get
12" wich to me is hard to bealive, they r lower jaw bichirs after all;)
