If you're not using the Metronidazole then, offer the parrots foods with some plant material, continue using the Vita-Chem, and use an immunity booster (like Immuno-Vite) to help them kick the HITH completely.

Yeah, not gonna find any of that stuff around here...haha. I've been feeding them peas, zucchini, squash, and spirulena flakes and algae discs...as well as Formula One and Two. I'm gonna try and find some of that Metronidazole though and start using it faithfully. Even when the HITH is gone, gonna keep using it for a few weeks to make sure its gone for good.

Nice parrots :)

Aye, the subdominant males/females keep their dark 'stress' camo. coloration most of the time. The dominant male is definately lighter and more bold...:D

:cool-1:

I think we undoubtebly have the sexiest Spectabilis on the block.

HITH is actually quite treatable in my experience, given lots of TLC and right conditions. Phil has given me lots more encouragement on treating it though, so i know it can be done quicker. As for how long have they had HITH, they had it a couple of months BEFORE I got them. I got a great deal on a lot of them because of the HITH. When they first came in, they were skinny and the HITH went down a lot of their lateral line. That has since healed up, now all that is left is the actual holes in their heads. Its gradually fillin in though. I'm gonna get some of that medication though to help speed up the process.

Peanut, I love your festivums. And those are nice parrots. What pikes do you have now?

Finally someone recognizes some of the truly special fish!! :D Those festivums are some of the best ones I've ever kept. Still small, but showing TONS of blues on them!! Can't wait till they get larger. I don't have any pikes at the moment...;)
