  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well I do think of my Nigerian lap as the poor man's PBB, lol
Lolz, i got all 3 nigerian lap in a lfs and labeled as wc palmas bichir, i even had to confirm with a few people here if the lap is a WC, i know it was a nigerian lap and in my eyes i knew they were WC. Ive seen some cb that Vancouver_98683 Vancouver_98683 showed me and they our laps look different from them.

I am going to blame this topic on J jaws7777 (lol)

Thinking of thinning down the herd myself....

Current stock and estimated size and characteristics
Ansorgii 16" (Highly visible, feeds and is out during the day)
Dabola endli 18" (Highly aggressive, lazy, hider, looks awesome, biggest poly)
Faranah lap 16" (Moderately visable, great pattern and color)
Koliba lap 16" (Hider, Okay pattern-nothing special, get along well with all)
Nigerian lap 15" (Moderately visable, feeds during the day)
Weeksii 16" (Highly visible-out swimming during the day, will only feed at night)

Im probably off on sizes with the likelihood of some being larger than estimated but the general characteristics are pretty dead on.

To me the rehome choice is the Koliba.... While it gets along well with everybody, it is not visible enough to merit me keeping it.

So who would you pick to rehome? Nigerian because it is likely CB and most common? Like to hear some of your thoughts too.
Keep:
ansorgii
weeksii. Nessie is the cutest weeksii I've ever seen!
Croc(can't remember if Kroc is the faranah or dabola)
Spec

have to think about which one to rehome.

My Nigerian does have that nice elongated body that typically means wild caught but I wasnt calling it wc just cause I wasnt sure where it originated.

Now that only leaves the Faranah lap (Hulk) and the Koliba (Never even officially named it). Since the Faranah is fairly active and has cool color and pattern it leaves to Koliba as the one to rehome. It was my rebound poly since I had lost a Koliba before who jumped. This one I couldn't even name so I never really was very attached to it.

I will try and dig up the best of the best and make this a difficult choice! Lol

One of the few you need to complete the collection.
The last poly i need is a koliba, im not really looking forward on getting a PBB bit if it come it comes, but yeah last on the list is a koliba

I really miss my old Koliba, it had such a cool olive green coloration and it had not even settled in yet. This one is nice but it was a rebound poly and I never got attached to it. I think the main reason I want to thin the herd is just maintenance related. Less fish means less work. My lone puffer in the 65B is a breeze to care for and was thinking of reducing the number in the 300g to make it easier to keep up too.

Im kind of done with polys for a while. No new polys, not even a pbb. Just trying to grow mine out to hopefully 20"+ sizes and be happy with that.

I understand, im still hype and i love WC the tank, but in one point we all going to get tired of it and we will want something like easy maintenance.
