great pics as always xander! TPGs are looking great - they really have a different pattern on the lighter substrate...i don't think i have raised any on the lighter substrate, so they were always darker (even though there's high variability in the species). will be interesting to see them continue to mature!--

thanks! i do believe that the background colour is playing a more important role in this case, because the substrate in the big tank is similar to the one in the grow out, yet when they (the trops) were in the 360, they had pretty standard "dark substrate" colors. however, with the white tank sides, they've really shed most of their blotchy pattern and adopted a more dash based pattern, somewhat similar to the trops you posted a couple of years ago that we guessed were meant to be consumed - do you remember?

will continue posting updates, which is far easier now that they are in a 100gal as opposed to the 360.
