And I said they were 2 girls That is how hard they can be to sex at young age But yes they look extremely healty and the fact they are already showing signs of maturity like thouse claws shows just how healty they are

turtle pellets..squash...lettuce, krill, and blood worms on occasion... they will be a year old approx. in may.... when my husband found the first guy i am holding.. the other in early june.. {about a week or so apart}

They certainly do I've bred western painted turtles before, if they're both mature you'll see courting behavior pretty often actually. The male will face the female and use his long front claws to stroke the female's cheeks and then they mate. I'm not sure how long from mating to eggs as my male was always trying so I never knew when the actually did the deed, and the eggs should take between 2-3 months to hatch.

If both turtles are showing the longer claws they're 2 males, but even if they're not at this age one might just be maturing slower and still actually be a male.
