Updates on my Heckel Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This is another tank. The zebrina and the domestic discus worked for a bit but I moved the diadema into the tank since they were bothering my heckels when I was trying to acclimate them. The diadema stressed my domestics and they succumbed.
Sorry to hear. And not trying to derail but just wanted to ask, so the Zebrina are with your diadema now?

Yes. I'm going to sell the diadema and my Lents. I'm going to put my chocolates and some red head tapajos geos in with them in the 150.

I think the zebrina can work with discus but in at least a 180. They didn't inflict any damage but they started to make the discus nervous around feeding time.

I think this is why they need to be the top of the food chain to really thrive. I think any sort of competition can put them into a skittish temperament and that's not the sort of thing you want for expensive and easy to kill fish.

Awesome set up! :D I was wondering about feeding worms though. I was under the impression there is a high possibility of them bringing parasites, do you feed your Heckels that because they won't eat anything else?

I had to feed them the live worms to entice them to feed. They are still settling.
