I'm thinking because the armatus is weaksauce, if it didnt grow quickly, it would die. Similar sized atfs are much more robust. any scientists know whether it's "easier" or "faster" to evolve speed of growth or physical attributes?

ive found payara to be more robust really....but,you may be right.

Robust as in swimming more or eating more agressively? I've never had an ATF.

watch that FRT. he might get nipped by all those preds.

not once in a couple months, they dont pay attention to them. physically bump into one another all the time.

not eating, they eat similar amounts but payaras which can swallow larger prey. you could say swimming but i meant agility/speed/mobility/durability/strength/ability to heal etc.

If that Gar attacked my Armatus the same way it attacked my ATF, I'm sure it would NOT have recovered.

I would say my ATF is way more aggressive with the feeders as soon as I put them in, he chases them and eats one, the Armatus waits and eats when he feels like it and doesn't really chase them, but I would also say he eats 2 and 3, where the ATF only eats 1 per night.

That ATF healed faster than anything I've ever seen and you should have seen how bad it really was, I thought he was done. Yet he grows very slow.

The ATF is not skittish in any way, when I get close to the tank he gets very curious and swims right up in my face while the others hide in the corner together.

btw, what kind of foods are you giving them?
Ever since I stopped feeding feeders, mine have been eating a lot less.
