Upgraded turtle tank.

Looks good, try using Reptomin pellets, I can't recommend them enough for turtles. Obviously not as a sole food, but they have a good amount of Vitamin D3 in, if you're not using UVB lighting :)

Unrelated, but fancy explaining how you keep your feeder fish? Do you treat them with anything, or feed them anything special? Always wondered :)

I do use Reptomin pellets :). She gets them in addition to those foods already listed above.

I keep my feeder fish in a 20g tall aquarium, no heater, with 2x AC20's for filtration. I keep anywhere from 50-150 feeder comets in there at a time, and that filtration is good enough to only do water changes once a week. I do about a 75-80% water change each week though.

I treat the whole tank every time I add new feeders, with a combination of Prazipro, Quickcure, and Rid Ich. I also try to wait at least 48 hours after treating them to start feeding them to other fish as well.

I have yet to have any problems from feeding feeders. Treating with all 3 medications is probably way overkill, but I guess safer than sorry, right?

I feed a combination of NLS Community pellets, Omega One veggie flakes, Omega One Tropical flakes, and Sinking Algae Disks. They also get an occasional clump of duckweed when I notice it building up in one of my other tanks.

I changed the tank one more time. With the water level being about 5-6 inches below the filter output (in the pics above), it sounded like Niagara falls in my living room. As this tank is right next to the tv, it was drowning out the sound unless we turned it way up.

I built a larger cage out of the 1/2" screen material to open up the left side of the tank above the turtle dock. This allowed me to raise the level almost to the top. Now the filters are much quieter, there's more water, but the turtle won't hit her head on a screen lid. This also keeps the lamp high enough above her head so that it doesn't put too much heat on her basking dock.

"Kind of expensive" being the operative phrase. I was doing this on the cheap. The metal mesh cost me all of a couple dollars, I used leftover string and some cable ties to hold it together, already had the eggcrate left over, and the turtle dock cost $20 (which I needed to buy anyways).

Considering it let me raise the water level in the tank by 5 inches, my little $5 or less screen top was worth it to me. And I don't mind the look at all.

Yah, I did look at them, but I just didn't want to/couldn't spend that much, especially since I've been flirting with rehoming the turtle anyways. I think I'm going to keep her for a while, but we'll see. It depends on my job outlook this summer...
