Nice, Sump fan myself but there is something to be said for these things just sitting under your tank and being ignored.

Trying to feel better about the tragedy of my 90g added another FX5.

Two down one to go.

Oh sorry about that, from your first post it seemed like you were talking about a 90g :nilly:

tellemuno, have you thought of setting up a big wet/dry instead of running all these canisters? never used wet/dry myself but I'm leaning to one if I get an other big tank in the future as wet/dry suppose to be the best filtration system for big tanks.

ya, but i have no experience with them i would not know where to begin. i also heard that sump pumps can't get the high turn over rate that you do with the canister filters when you are keeping p's.

Awhile ago on one of my other threads someone posted this comment about the sump pump that made me not go that route.

with a sump if the water gets over turned to fast the bio media wont work as well it suggested that it turns over about 4x and hour

i have a 55 sump and a 20 sump and i would perfer fx5s anyday

hummm, didn't know that, but would turnover rates matter if the wet-dry is doing the job or better?, Never had a wet-dry only got cans looking into wet-drys tho....

good question. not sure tho don't have any info other than what's posted above. I'm fully invested in the canister. can't turn back now.

it'll be good to look into if you get an other monster tank in the future.
