upgrading tank

i'm moving up to a 135gl tank, what i want to know is if i use my old filter do i still need to cycle the tank?

Definitley keep that filter running on your new 135, but you'll also need to add some filtration. If you have a very light stocking load 1-2 fish your old filter should be ok, beyonmd that you want to put an additional filter. If your going with a HOT look at AC 110, or as suggested the Peguin 350, or the Emperor....
