Upgrading the Cincta pikes

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mine are still pretty small as well but I'll be moving them into a 150 from the 20L grow out soon once I am able to sell off my CA Cichlids.

I too have never seen lug pikes this small. They look like my Regani's when I first got them in size. Can't wait til they start packing size.

I have a video I'll post. Pics are hard since they are so small. I've only got a cell phone.

I just moved mine into my 150 after selling off my fish in there.

They are still small and havent grown much. The dominant two have put on some size but the 20L was just to constricting.

How big are yours Freebyrd and Crenicichla444?

Oh sorry didn't see your reply. I actually moved them out of the 80 gallon because I got a nice rainbow trout from a farm nearby. Also a lot of food was going to waste. There was a bit too much current and filtration lol. They're back in the ten gallon. 3 of em are a solid 2 inches grown quite a bit, one is at 1.6 inches and runt is at 1.3 but fat. Trick is to power feed the runts and distract the bigger guys. Also ovrfeed a lot and do a lot of water changes so a smaller tank is good. Also I have a goldfish in there as a peacekeeper and a swimming trash man cleans up everything. Plus 3 giant danios. Wetspot advertised them as 1.25 inches but in reality they were under a inch when they arrived. Are yours onto flakes and pellets yet? Mine took a little bit some needed two days others till the end of the week but they're all off frozen. Much more convenient with feeding.
On a side note I'm beginning to get skeptical again with the id on them. Take a look at an adult cr. Lucius. Looks similar to our guys when they aren't showing stripes. But again they're really small so it's still too early to say anything yet. The alpha one is showing some really nice orange on the tail eyespot so I still have some hope... You guys need to get some more pics up!!!

I'm really hoping that they're in fact Cincta. Mine are on frozen and freeze dried Mysis and bloodworms. Can't get them onto pellets yet.

I have pics of mine in another post.
