I got it used off someone on CL. I used it for well over a year without any leaks or issue. I sold it dirt cheap so I could get my monster tank. There are certain tanks I would never buy in my opinion. I would never buy a rimless tank or a bow front bigger than 80.

hMMm.... yah I wouldn't want new swimming pool in my living room do i? =P 180g is a LOT of water! I'm getting the tank used but from someone I know that wants to get rid of the tank thats been sitting there for a while... Maybe I can resilicone the whole tank just to be safe? Would putting silicone over old silicone be ok maybe??

Awww... Man... I totally can't sleep and I am constantly thinking about whcich tank to purchase... Bowfront or rectangle. With the bowfront is going to be an awesome deal! but I am still curious about the distorting front view and the rumors of bow front leaking problems.

Isn't this an awesome deal for bowfront?
180g bowfront tank
glass top lids
2x3' lights
wood stand
metal stage that raises the whole setup
2x 404 fluval canister filters
1x 50' anaconda for water changes
some driftwood
2x 200 watt heaters
thermometer
and I think he's going to toss in a small metal ladder for me when I do WC's.
+he's going to Put it in his van and deliver it to me.

ALL that for $500 firm

what's the width of the bowfront at both ends? usually they are more narrow than rectangle tanks. personally I like rectangle tank better, seeing everything better in the tank. bowfront tank looks nice but I don't like the distortion. haven't personally own one but I've seen some at lfs. harder to take pics too especially when you need to use flash, I'm sure you want to show off your aro. :)
the deal looks good but do you want to live with some distorting view over the period you own the tank and worry about the possible leaking problem?
what's the deal on the rectangle 180g anyway?

There is more swimming area in the 180 standard then there is in the bow front.

It is only 24" wide at one point then it reduces down to 18" at each end. It is taller which makes up for the volume but doesn't add any area for swimming.

standard in my opinion.

but ultimately its you thats has to look at it all day. it is a good deal.

again ive not owned one but my friend has one. if your stood right in front of it looking straight its ok, but you get distortion from any other angle to some degree.

who wants to look at distorted fish?

just my 2 cents.

The deal isn't as great on the standard 180, its probably going to be a few hundred more for the standard tank. But There won't be so many door prizes as the bow front deal AND Most likely no delivery. =(
I've yet to meet up with the owner sometime to see and negotiate for the tank but I honestly want a standard as well. I think a rectangle tank would be easier to maintain compared to a bowfront. easier to look at as well. Its just that the bowfront is such an AWESOME deal. ugh!! I gotta make a real hard decision here....

I agreed with what this guy said. If you planned to keep big fish then 180g rectangle would be a better tank.
