Uprooting

How can I get my green terror and pike cichlid to stop uprooting my plants? i really dont wanna have to get rid of them. BUT they are the destoyers of plants.

yep.

If they are fake plants I either use plant weights so they are always on the bottom, or I silicone some of my gravel to the base of the plant. They move and shift around the plants, but at least they don't float.

Java fern, or Java moss tied down to a hunk of driftwood is the only thing I've been able to keep my Oscar from destroying. and he still re-arranges that... lol there are a few other plant species that can be attached to driftwood and do well. Cichlids dig, and replant, and re-decorate... it's just what they do.
