Gday all, just curious does anyones eels lay in their caves or on the bottom upside down?? Ive got a freshwater long finned eel that is constantly rolling upside down,staying there for a few minutes then turning right way up.hes eating well etc, any thoughts?? cheers

never heard of that name got a pic when ever any of my eels rolled it ended badly hope theres nothing wrong with your eel

I got it bout 6 months ago when it was bit over 20'',its grown bout 2'' since then.Awesome pet,comes up out of the water to eat from my hand,then does mad deathrolls to rip up the food. When it flips it stays there for a minute or so then flips back.Im keepin him in my main tank which is bout 25 degrees celcius or 77 F.Im hoping that the warmer water isnt the reason its acting funny.

I caught mine and I never had any problems with it, but he's in our Pond at the moment.
As for rolling over, mine only ever did that when it was digging.

They are really cool Eels, they get big if kept in a large enough pond too.MUNSTA;1810256; said:

he mate i have the exact same ell except mine a mottled (yellow ) longfin, and is aw mine today sitting on his back, i didnt know what he was doing , but he turned back up and he was fine, i dont know why they do it though,.
